Overview
CodeMate is designed to provide an iOS coding companion experience. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use the app and related services.
Information We May Collect
- Account information you provide when signing in, such as your email address, display name, and identifiers associated with your Apple or Google sign-in.
- App and device context automatically sent by the app, such as app version, platform, language, device model, OS version, install identifier, and app-generated device UUID.
- App settings that you choose to sync or store, represented as structured JSON data and sent when settings sync is enabled.
- Push notification tokens automatically provided when you enable notifications.
- Subscription information received from Apple and RevenueCat, such as product, entitlement, subscription status, renewal status, and expiration date. We do not receive your full payment card details.
- Support messages you send to us, including your email address and message content.
How We Use Information
- To provide app functionality, settings sync, Premium access, and support.
- To improve reliability, diagnose issues, and maintain service security.
- To respond to support requests and communicate about the app when needed.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information or share it for third-party advertising. We share only the information needed to operate CodeMate with service providers, including Firebase for authentication and notification delivery, RevenueCat for subscription and entitlement management, Apple for sign-in, purchases, and notifications, and Google when you choose Google sign-in.
These providers process information on our behalf or under their own applicable terms. We require providers acting on our behalf to use appropriate safeguards and provide protection equal to or greater than that described in this Privacy Policy. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the security, rights, or integrity of CodeMate and its users.
Data Retention
Account information, synced settings, device records, and subscription entitlement records are generally retained while your account is active so that we can provide the service. Notification tokens are retained while notifications are enabled or until the token is replaced or becomes invalid. Support correspondence and limited security or transaction records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to requests, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, accounting, or App Store obligations.
When you delete your account or request deletion, we delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account unless retention is required for a legal obligation, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or another permitted purpose. Residual copies may remain temporarily in protected backups until those backups are overwritten.
Your Choices and Data Deletion
- You may disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings, which withdraws permission for future notifications.
- You may stop settings sync by disabling the feature in CodeMate where that option is available.
- You may delete your account using the account deletion control in CodeMate, or contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your associated personal information.
- You may withdraw consent for optional processing by disabling the related feature or contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect processing already completed before your request.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children
CodeMate is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under the age required by applicable law.
